Plastic, mould and shine.

A Playmobil figure arrives pre-designed: round head, fixed proportions, hands shaped like a C, that painted smile that never changes. There's nothing left to simplify, so the realism goes entirely into the plastic — the mould seam, the hard highlight across the helmet, the scuffing on a toy that actually got played with. It's nearly always one specific figure from somebody's childhood, and that worn detail is exactly the point.
