At three centimetres you can't add detail, only take it away. Every line that stays has to be doing a job, and the drawing is made for how it looks in ten years rather than how it leaves the session: two lines that nearly touch today are one blot later. They're quick pieces, and often somebody's first — or their fifth, the one that slots into the gap left between the others.
