Records, guitars and lyrics.

Almost none of these are about music in the abstract: they're about a specific object — the headstock somebody recognises across a room, a cassette with the label written by hand, a record that played in one particular house. Covers are graphic design and get tattooed as graphic design, clean-edged with flat blacks; an instrument is realism and wants lacquer, wood and reflection. When a handwritten lyric goes in it needs more air than it looks like it needs, because tight fine script is the first thing to close up.
