The arcana arrive with a fixed iconography that reads on its own: the Moon, the Tower, the Hermit and his lantern. The real problem is format — a card is a bordered rectangle with its name underneath, and that rectangle fights the body — so the decision is whether the frame stays as part of the tattoo or the figure gets lifted out of the card and left to breathe. The source is linear to begin with, nearly greyless, which is exactly why it's so friendly to fineline. And nobody picks a card at random: they're always picking what the card says about them.
